Are you a working Kentuckian who may be eligible for money from the Federal Government through the Earned Income Tax Credit program? As a general rule, these are the income guidelines for income earned in 2008:

  • If you are working and single with no children, your income must be below $12,880.
  • If you are working and married with no children, your income must be below $15,880.
  • If you are working and single and have one child, your income must be below $33,995.
  • If you are working and married and have one child,your income must be below $36,995.
  • If you are working and single and have more than one child, your income must be below $38,646.
  • If you are working and married and have more than one child, your income must be below $41,646.

Kentuckians who file federal income tax returns should likely file state income tax returns too. Visit the Kentucky Department of Revenue online for individual income tax forms or ask for forms at your public library.
